Oh, it's a picture of perfection

I have to share...I'm so excited!
(sorry about the cross-posting Gretch, but everyone has to see these)

Last Saturday, Barry and I went apartment hunting for the place that I will live after July (I will be living in his Starkville apartment while he's in Houston this summer; I do enjoy free rent!). At first we were a bit discouraged because the first complex had no one-bedrooms left...and they were $650! I cannot afford that. Then no one was answering their phones when we'd call to view the apartment. We looked at one, and it was alright, but nothing special. We were having lunch--mmm, Stromboli's--and Dot called. I asked about one bedrooms and she said she had one. Then she asked if I was a student. I said no, I work for MSU. Suddenly a new apartment became available! I think they just don't like to rent this one to irresponsible students. And I can see why. It's wonderful, and in such good condition. The floor is tile, there's a security lock on the downstairs door and an alarm on the apartment (perfect for the safety of little ol' me), the kitchen is open and airy and there are plenty of cabinets, and the ceilings are vaulted, making it seem much bigger than it is. Here's a photo of the best feature:

This was passed on to me from the current resident; no, I do not know that person.

Well, the outside in 1927. The marquee is the theater, which is currently being renovated, along with the international bistro next door. The little sign to the left that signals a candy store is where the Starkville Cafe is now located. I live above the restaurant, but my windows do not look out on the street. They face the back parking lot. The Starkville Cafe is 24 hours and has free internet, perfect, and nearby is my favorite relaxed bar with a patio, my bank, a few other restaurants, and the courthouse (just in case, y'know). It's a mile to work, so when it's not horribly hot and humid I'll be able to walk, as there are actually SIDEWALKS the entire way.

Yes, I am excited.

I love it. jeff and I have always wanted to live in a place like that. Theres something so romantically adventurous about it. Maybe someday we'll live in a loft in the city.
