Today Was a Good Day

Or, rather, yesterday was.

Yesterday I went right from work to the free concert in the park (not the best with the heat and crowds, oh well) then to game night for my community group, who played three rounds of scattagories (which did take about an hour) before deciding it was time to go to Creole Creamery. B and I weren't adventurous--just amaretto cheesecake and black and gold crunch, same thing he got the first time. Next time it'll be peanut butter pie. I did sample the olive oil and sea salt sorbet, which was surprisingly creamy.

Then when I got home after 10pm (gasp!) what was waiting for me but...an envelope from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. And not a little envelope, either, but a full sized one. And we all know what it means when it's the full sized one! That's right, I'm in, I've officially been accepted to the SPHTM in the International Health and Development department, with the adviser for Food Security and Nutrition.

I'm so excited. As Dad said, "Was there ever a doubt?" Well, I figured I'd get in, they told me I'd get in, but I didn't apply as an employee so I went through the same standards as everyone. And they picked me. So now I get to be a candidate for a Master's in Public Health. It's what I've wanted and what I've been aspiring to and I'm so excited that I wish classes were starting tomorrow. Alas they do not start until August 29th, a day that will forever cause a cold chill around here I'm sure, so instead I am wearing my blue and green SPHTM sweatshirt because apparently being 90 degrees out means that the air temperature inside must be, at maximum, 60 degrees.

Oh yeah. Link available in the sidebar for my program.

What an awesome program you'll be in. By Christmas I'll want to interview you for hours on what you're learning. I didn't it all on the website but I'm very intrigued. Wow.

Yea! We are so proud of you! I can completely hear your father say, "Was there any doubt?" I too ask the same, "Was there any doubt?"

Okay, we get it. Last month you had a good day, but what about today?
