No, not because of Thanksgiving, I think I'm looking forward to Tday even less this year than usual, and I'm not usually a Thanksgiving fan. No, it's because Thanksgiving is early this year and that means...Christmas can start!
YAY!!!!!!!!!
Amanda sent me a Christmas CD at least two weeks ago, and my tree showed up on Monday, so I'm all set...except that I won't allow myself to be Christmas-y until November 23rd. After that, the music's going on and the tree's going up and the house will smell of cinnamon and evergreen. I even hope to host my first Christmas party (combined with a housewarming). This is the first time since becoming what I consider to be an adult that I've really been involved in a community, and I hope that there are lots of fun Christmas-y happenings going on. I love the anticipation, the excitement, the reason to be happy. I love the traditions, the rituals, the lighting of the candles and the making of the paper chains.
So come on Thanksgiving--get here so we can come into Advent!
(Oh...one more thing...Grandpa, no one ever told me my name for this year...)
