I saw the sunrise today...
Apologies to those of you used to life updates or who would like to read commentary on health issues or other things in the news that tick me off.
For the next month, this blog, more or less, will be about me becoming a runner. It's such an alien concept for me that I need to document it. I know that I've written before that I would like to start running, or even that I went for a run, but this is going to be even more.
I've set a goal: 30 mintues by October 18th, 2006. It's there in writing, and as of today I'm one day closer. I'm going to plaster this goal everywhere and tell as many people as possible, for encouragment and for accountability.
I have a plan: Today, I walked for five minutes, then alternated running one minute and walking one minute for fifteen minutes, then walked for five more minutes. On Wednesday, I up the ratio to 90 seconds and 90 seconds. I forget what I do Friday but I know it's more running. On the non-running days, I do strength exercises, and of course my yoga. I guess weekends will be recovery times.
So today.
Exercise: 25 minutes walking and running.
Music: A Collection of Short Stories, Houston Calls
Food: Heritage Flakes/Honey Bunches of Oats combo with 1/2 nectarine, cran-rasberry juice w/sparkle water, coffee.
Pain: Not yet
Thoughts for next time:
More protein
Wake up earlier for stretches
Need an iTunes playlist

Just for your consideration: Best protein drinked I've tasted is Jay Robb's Egg White Protein drink. Tastes great with a banana and a little oj blended in...or any combo. You can even drink it plain.
You're my hero...getting started on the exercise regimen; something I have to stop just considering and just do!
Yea! The stretching part is so important. I'm feeling it since I started karate last week. I did my first self-defense move on Jeff this evening and the yell at the end of the move was quite intimidating. If only I could look so intimidating while I do my stretches.
